It is hard to believe that it is exactly 50 days ago when the Covid-19 lockdown was imposed upon us and we found ourselves unable to play the game we all so enjoy. I am therefore delighted to be able to write this brief note by way of a welcome back to golfing life here at Caldy.
I must take this opportunity on behalf of all the Club staff and our associated personnel for your support and good wishes during what has been an extremely difficult period for all concerned. In particular, I must pay tribute to our Green staff who under the stewardship of Carl Crocher, our Course Manager, have worked within all the guidelines provided to them in an attempt to keep our facility in as good a condition as possible during this period.
I hope that those of you who have chosen to take your exercise across the course over the past few weeks have enjoyed doing so and as Mark Twain once famously said your good walk is about to be spoiled!.
I regret that we will be unable to welcome you into the Clubhouse – especially in view of the recent refurbishment which I am sure we were all looking forward to enjoy during the course of the summer. Hopefully, it will not be too long before we are enjoying both the Clubhouse and patio areas with our unrivalled views.
Our club Professional Alan Gibbons will be welcoming our members for golf and assisting me in ensuring we Stay Alert and follow guidelines.
In signing off, I do hope you enjoy your return to the game and would thank you in advance for your observance of the guidelines which you have been sent and which are posted on the door entrances to the Clubhouse.
