A bright but chilly morning greeted our new Captain Chris Litherland as he emerged from the locker rooms on Sunday morning.
Having been suitably hydrated by the Past Captains in anticipation of the sporting challenges prepared for him prior to his drive-in, Captain was given a rousing reception from the Caldy Members who had turned up in great numbers to wish him well for the year ahead.
Having made his way through the traditional Guard of Honour formed by his predecessors in a variety of suitably ill-fitting clothing, there then followed an exhibition of his prowess in football, rugby, cricket and squash (with varying degrees of success!) before a few well-chosen words for the masses.
To the sound of a cannon timed to perfection by Peter Price, The Captain then proceeded to split the fairway with a fine opening tee shot, to herald the start of the summer playing season.
The Members and Staff of the Club send all our best wishes to Captain Chris, his wife Michele and their family for an enjoyable and successful year ahead.
