Day 2 Results – Senior’s Open Day – Festival of Golf 2018

Another stunning day of golf on the Caldy links saw a close encounter end with Eddie Crawford & Steve Rayer of Tytherington Golf Club win the Senior Open by a single point, on 48 points.

In a Betterball Stableford format, three teams finished behind our winners on 47 points:

  • 2nd – John Ingle & Peter Jones – 47 Points – Padeswood & Buckley
  • 3rd – Gary Gaynor & M Pritchard – 47 Points – Penwortham & Preston
  • 4th – Mike Edwards & Ernie Bailey – 47 Points – Bridgnorth & Worfield

The nearest to the pin competitions on holes 8 and 17 were equally as close fought, with Dave Woods of Upton-by-Chester Golf Club going closest on the 8th. What a day for Steve Rayer though, who went closest on the 17th as well as being part of the winning team.

Congratulations to our winners and well done to all involved. Roll on day 3 and the Ladies Open.
