Club House Relaunch 29th February 2020

Well after many hours, days and months we are eventually there and most importantly on time and on budget. I’m sure you will all agree the wait has been well worth while turning what was a tired, dated environment into a stunning new club house we can all be proud of.

The Fabric sub group expertly lead by Andrea Findley, Ann Lewis Lloyd, Chris Davies and  Dave Crinson started on the task way back in November 2018 with the objective of creating a warm welcoming environment utilising the total clubhouse space. To gain some ideas and inspiration from other clubs we visited both Hillside and S&A   two premier Northwest Golf Clubs who had recently been refurbished.  Hillside was the type of environment we were looking for so contact was made with the company they engaged for their refurbishment The Dawnvale Group of Manchester and this is where our journey began.

Three visits to Dawnvale HQ

10 visits of the Dawnvale design team to Caldy

Approximately 25 meetings by the Fabric Sub Group

In excess of 150 emails sent and received

Presentation to the Board from the Sub Group and the Dawnvale Team

and Many Many more hours of behind the scenes activity

After 16 months of deliberation, consideration and some frustrations I can honestly say on behalf of the group we have had a most enjoyable experience and above all we are still speaking with each other.  But what has been our highlight or the icing on the cake is the most positive response we have received from you the members.

Finally, projects like this need the support of many individuals which I would now like to thank on behalf of Andrea and the Group.

In no particular order they are,

  1. Simon Barnes and Sons for lifting and removing the old carpet without cost to the club
  2. Nigel McIntyre for touching up the Captains and Lady Captains photographs and production of the video playing tonight
  3. Mr Ex, John Crosby for his expertise and advice in organising the new audio visual equipment
  4. The 200 club for their very kind donation for the purchase of all the new audio equipment
  5. Dave Lewis and Peter Birch for their advice on lighting and acoustics
  6. Finance Committee chaired by (Ian Widdowson and Jonnie Mounsey) for letting us spend the money
  7. The past Lady Captains for the purchase of the new presentation table
  8. The one and only Dave Barnes of Kitchen Craft for the supply of the new crockery at preferential rates
  9. Peter Rowlands (the handy man) for his patience in the removal and relocation of the club memorabilia
  10. Claire Hunter the Design and Project Leader from Dawnvale
  11. And last but not least Our General Manager Richard Beswick for his management support and advice throughout the project.
