CGC welcome England Golf Captains

CGC welcome England Golf Captains

We have great pleasure in hosting the match today which includes The Society of Liverpool Golf Captains and England Golf Captains which is played annually. The match is organised in alternate years by SLGC and England Golf respectively with 24 players on each team.

Our current Captain, John Crosby, and all the Past Captains of the Club, are members of the Society of Liverpool Golf Captains which comprises 27 Clubs around the Merseyside area and which was formed in 1908. Each year the Society has matches against other Societies of Captains around the country and the match tomorrow is one in the fixture list.

England Golf is the governing body for male and female amateur golf in England and is affiliated to The R&A, the joint global governing body of golf. Captains and Past Captains of golf clubs throughout England, including Caldy, can become members of the England Golf Captains programme with events being held around the country. For the match today, the England Golf Captains team has been selected from Captains and Past Captains from all areas of England.

Good luck to all involved and we hope you have a fantastic day on the course.
