Ciaran Doherty followed in his brother’s footsteps when he won the Caldy Quart on 10th May.

A cold and windy start to the day provided a stern test for the first round, where only one player, Dave Morris from Tenby Golf Club, broke par with a very impressive 69 giving him a 3 shot lead on the field. Caldy players, Lewis Johansen (73) and Dominic Barnes (73) played themselves into a good position to challenge in the afternoon.

As the weather warmed up and the wind died down, it seemed like the scores would improve in the afternoon, and they did. 4 players broke par, with Jack Brooks from The Mere Golf and Country Club recording a 69 as the lowest round in the afternoon. But it was consistency that paid off in the end. With rounds of 73 and 70, Ciaran Doherty took the title which his brother Sean had won in 2012.

Lewis Johansen followed his 73 in the morning, with a 74 in the afternoon to win the best nett overall.

Congratulations to all of the winners from everyone at Caldy Golf Club.
